What keeps Shannon passionate about her role in a 911 agency is simple yet powerful: purpose. She describes the work as meaningful, fast-paced, and never boring. Being part of a team that helps people in their most critical moments is what drives her every day. For Shannon, it’s the unique combination of challenge, compassion, and teamwork that makes her role so rewarding.
Throughout her career, Shannon has achieved numerous honors and accomplishments. She was named Dispatcher of the Year, recognized by the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce, and earned distinction as an APCO Supervisor of the Year runner-up. Beyond these accolades, she has taken on leadership roles that have made a lasting impact—serving as Community Outreach & Employee Recognition Chair and as President of the Heartland Communications Dispatcher Association. Her dedication extends into coordinating volunteer events and contributing to countless initiatives that strengthen both her organization and community. Shannon is quick to credit her success to the unwavering support of her family and peers.
When she’s off the clock, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, cheering on her sons at their high school sporting events, and surrounding herself with her love for animals. She also has a passion for travel and is currently channeling her creativity into a home remodel—embracing a new role of aspiring interior designer.
A few fun facts about Shannon are that she has a soft spot for “squishy bread,” is completely obsessed with her cat Freddy, and finds satisfaction in keeping a clean and organized home.
After a long shift, Shannon’s perfect way to unwind is simple and heartfelt—sharing a family dinner, enjoying a competitive game of UNO (which she proudly wins), and relaxing with her husband while watching their favorite shows.
Shannon’s dedication, leadership, and positive spirit make her a valued member of the team and a true example of service above self. Thank you for all you do Shannon!
